Element Payment Services Announces CardSense™, a PCI Compliant Processing Technology that Helps Merchants Manage Payment Acceptance

Element Payment Services announces the release of the CardSense™, a PCI DSS compliant payment technology available for both merchants and software providers.

Phoenix, AZ (May 12, 2011) -- Element Payment Services, the industry leader in PCI compliant payment processing, announces the release of the CardSense™, a PCI DSS compliant payment technology available for both merchants and software providers. CardSense™ allows merchants to identify a customer’s payment card type prior to processing a transaction resulting in risk mitigations, lower transaction fees and proper handling at the point of sale.

Many industries, including car rental, lodging, healthcare and retail, benefit from identification of card types pre-authorization. CardSense™ will provide merchants this service without complicating the ability to meet PCI DSS requirements.

After an independent software vendor’s (ISVs) business management software is integrated to Element’s Express Processing Platform to support CardSense™, merchants simply swipe or manually key a customer’s card as normal. The business management software then receives an identifier that allows the merchant to distinguish between a PIN debit, prepaid debit and healthcare cards. The merchant can use this information to determine how they want to proceed with the transaction.
